
During the last weekend of March 2010, a prominent group of Muslim academics, scholars and theologians from across the Muslim convened in the historical city of Mardin to discuss the implications of the “Mardin” fatwa. Speakers are listed in alphabetical order according to surname.
Dr. Muhammed Uzair Shams
Dr. Muhammed Uzair Shams is an outstanding scholar and specialist editor of Islamic manuscripts. He studied at the famous Jami’a Salafiyya in Banaras, Medina University and the Umm al-Qura University in Mecca. He completed his postgraduate and doctoral studies in Mecca. He has served at many libraries and help made manuscript catalogues. With experience in manuscripts for over twenty years, he has become a point of reference for students and professors across the Muslim world. He has edited over seventeen texts, some of which are authored by Ibn Taymiyya.
